One more day of inventing the subject from the basics

Watercolors

Again I had to demonstrate watercolors in damp overcast conditions.  I just wanted to have more contrast for the lesson so I amped up the light and created a large shape of trees and painted this shape on top of a light background.  I wanted to have very interesting white shapes to work against.  When painting in transparent watercolor I always try to hold back as much white paper as possible, I know I can always get rid of the white later but it is hard to get it back once gone.  Try to work simple values shapes against white paper and make your shapes interesting.watercolor demonstration on 200 lb Waterford paper
