I am posting these 3 new oils, which are painted under a time limit of 60 minutes. I want to keep the paintings free and loose with a feeling of plein aire, although I know to the purist this is not cool. I am trying to learn to get as comfortable with oil pigment as I am with watercolor and until I am I will continue to work of a free non cluttered approach. Hopefully soon I will be confident enough to say I know how to paint in oils.

Steve-Your brushwork is really good, especially in the first painting in this post. It’s expresive and confident and conveys a movement to the painting that is wonderful. Keeping your time short is a good idea because in oils you can pick and re-paint it to death! I have found a limited palette also helps. Keep up the good work and I really look forward to your posts.
