Day 9 Rockport, Maine Workshop

Painting & Poetry
Workshops

Woke up to rainy overcast skies and so we headed to the Camden Yacht Club to paint.  They are so nice to let us paint on their covered porch.  Today’s lesson was another of my paint the scene quickly and try to get a feeling for the type of day.  The group really did well with the exercise and the critique was really fun with some great paintings.  The purpose of the lesson is not to paint fast but rather to capture the essence of the subject without getting all wrapped up in the details of the subject.  Try to paint quicker and to let more accidents happen in you work.  It will be refreshing and positive.

Sun didn’t wake up

Morning light, cool grey softness
