What a great day painting with a new collection of wonderful student.  We painted at one of my favorite places the Belted Galway Farm in Camden, Maine.  The lesson this morning was to focus on a very small light pattern and play it against a dark and dark middle value major piece.  My demonstration is crafted from the light moving past the farm house across the road and then up the trees.  It was a very fun painting and I think it turned out pretty focused.

Camden Farm

Trees turn white
In morning sunlight
Shadows form
Bright patterns
Leading past the painted barn
And Oreo cows

Cows with calves
Colored black and white
Slowly graze
Big with small
Lost in fields of golden green
And rest in the shade
