“Summer 2015” oil on panel 11×14 I tried to create a strong feeling of movement in this painting up to the barn and to get a nice feeling of depth using color and texture.Same photo used for this painting I just changed the composition to make it more about the barns and the red roofs. Again I am overlapping textures and strength of colors to create depth. I think the red is too strong but I can deal with that down the road.“Roses, a Metaphor” 9×12 oil on panel Again red is the dominant theme here, and I played it against off whites, I guess you could say I was affected by Whistler’s symphony in white paintings but to do so would be arrogant on my part. I painted everything in scale so the roses were this size in proportion to the cups, I thought it was fun but it looks like I can’t draw. Well, maybe I can’t. I have been using still lifes this winter for my plein air experience since it is 70 degrees in my studio
