This painting has a very interesting small piece of light that I worked pretty hard on keeping and the foreground and sides with the trees have a lot of emphasis on brushwork. Try to really use a lively brush and exaggerate the shadows on the buildings. Also try to give each building a slightly different color cast. All of this will transform another very simple landscape into a pretty vibrant painting.
