Today’s blog is a painting from my watercolor class last Thursday. It is a very dark early morning image of a cabin in Paris Virginia. It was built in 1734 and is now our new project. Anyway I digress. The paintings main concept this the light on the cabin and getting the feeling of the environment of the setting. I wanted to capture the light and to keep the values very stark and dramatic. I really tried to say a time of day and keep the painting very simple. I hope you enjoy it. I am will be painting lots of painting in and around this cabin over the next few years and plan to teach a few classes here. 12 x 16 watercolor on 300 lb paper
