I need to get started again painting after several weeks of putting together shows and working on the business side of my art, which by the way is like going to the dentist and having my teeth pulled. I have some new ideas for a painting series on the figure as a theme and then I am getting back to my Southwest series which is nice because it forces me to use a brush more and palette knife less. I am still in a love hate relationship with acrylics and am hoping that I will eventually be in a longterm committed relationship but after all of these years in the traditional watercolor camp it is hard to make a comfortable leap to a new medium.

  1. The bottom one reminds me of traveling to Maine, driving by the huge rock walls on the sides of the roads as we got closer to Maine. I've always loved the striated/marbleized rock on the sides of the roadways, which must have been felled by some huge chowder-loving medieval worker the size of a cave troll.

  2. Steve, I love this style of abstract painting. The colors, textures, composition all create a dynamic image. Very nice indeed. But, most importantly, does it match the sofa? (Just kidding)
