Blue Mountain Morning
A pleasant walk to nowhere
Along a peaceful country road
Morning’s blue mountains
call
Can I lighten up your load
I’m leaving all the hustle,
friction winds me tight
But drinking cool summer air
clears my narrowed sight
I really want to sever
ties to those who hate.
Turning to the morning sun
I walk through a calmer gate
They call to me stay, resist,
Come back we need to fight
But this path is all my own
peace is in the light
Once I was hostile
to those from different trees
but morning walks to nowhere
made me listen, learn to see
Its not how much we think alike
but how we disagree
when I’ve just one more dawn
these truths will set me free
I love the distant blue mountain that inspired you for that beautiful watercolor and for that romantic poem. Mercedes
