This 18×24 watercolor was painted for the Annapolis Watercolor Club several weeks ago. The lesson was planning to have a center of interest and to make the movement of the painting lead the viewer in the right direction. The clouds lead you into the break in the trees and the light on the weeds moves you toward the break, and the trees are the most interesting at the center of interest. Make sure you begin your paintings with a purpose and concept and they will turn out better.
A Worthy View
After hours of chopping through weeds and thorny underbrush, I come to a clearing. Bruised from fallen over logs and rocks, my joints and muscles crying out in submission, I stumble into an Eden. This is the view I wanted to find, the one that makes this day worth the sweat, and misery. A beautiful and gentle view unfolds before me proving that if I seek I will find.
Mountains become sky
Trees adorned in yellow green
Gentle grass welcomes
Thinking of what lies ahead
I see a red Hawk floating
Wuaw !!! What a beauty Steve !!!
