Drawing is a skill that will improve immensely by just doing, especially if you approach it from a ego-less place. Each time you see a little better, you slow down a tad, and you begin to really see what is there not what you think or want to see. Drawing is about a communication between you eyes and your hand, and without both of them working in synch, you will struggle with timid lines and shapes. Draw something easy and start with where your eye level is, it is directly, arm held straight out in front of your eye, in front of your eyes and notices the lines below and the lines above. It makes it easier. Then learn to make quality lines thin, thick, broken, pressured, curvy, these are your tools. Look at Rodin, Degas, Sargeant, and Wyeth they can help you on your path.Warm up with Ruby the Tennessee cat, she decided I was okay and did some quick 30 second poses waiting for my sister to come back in from outside.Pretty plain drawing but my goal was to get the perspective right especially on the top of the low boy chest. I added the chair arm for depth and the little rabbit sculpture on the floor because it was there and really hard to make a convincing image of.These chimes I just noticed yesterday and I wondered how big of a hurricane would it take to get them making noise. I have come to the conclusion there are cool things to draw everywhere even at your sister’s house. Today I was using a mechanical pencil 9mm lead and it worked okay for drawing with it lacks sensitivity of edge. DRAW EVERYDAY, I AM GOING TO, SO GIVE IT A TRY AND REPORT BACK TO ME. IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH SHAPES IN YOUR PAINTINGS ITS BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT DRAWING ENOUGH. DROP THE EXCUSES AND DO IT.
