This watercolor demonstration is all about the energy of the brush and the preserving of white paper to create a very exciting painting of surf as it runs past rocks. The color palette is Cobalt, and Cerulean Blue, and New Gamboge with the browns being a combination of Burnt Sienna, Ultramarine Blue and Alizirin Crimson. Try not to over mix the colors on the palette and let them have some individual identity on the paper. I scrape the rocks with plastic card and knife. Think big: big shapes, big brush marks, and big value contrasts.
