These three images are from my last Thursday’s classes at the Art League in Alexandria, VA. I think all three are interesting and represent a total variety of styles for you to try. One is very representational and moody with color being subordinated to the dark values of the type of lighting and weather, one is a very colorful and expressive wet in wet design painting that tries to capture the explosion of color in the springtime. The third is all about abstracting the shapes in the image down to one continuous dark shape and trying to carry this shape all across the painting. I think you should try various ways to paint and you will stay interested and fresh. By changes directions and styles you will find new directions and more ways to tell your story about your art and impressions
