Today in my class I was demonstrating several representational rural scenes that featured the technique of splatter and I told them that I would post several pieces I finished a few years back in my “Creation Series.” Here goes I hope you get what I was doing which was trying to express the explosions of energy in the early years of planet earth.“Starlight” 22 x 30 watercolor on paper This painting is about lying on the hood of your car in the middle of the desert and getting lost in the billions of stars in the skies.“Big Bang” 22 x 30 watercolor on paper No controversy here just trying to express some energy and power. The big round shape to the right is the birth of a planet and the power of motion.“Life Begins” 22 x 30 watercolor on paper This is the ultimate in over painting with splatter the entire piece except for the lines is about the use of building up texture by splattering paint with various sized brushes.“”Solar Flare” 22 x 30 watercolor on paper. Opaque colors and splatter, this took some nerve to finish this painting off with the thrown red paint at the top of the fire plume, if it fails the painting is ruined.
