I have been working pretty hard to get my oil paintings to have the same level of artistic finish as my watercolors, and I just returned from a wonderful 3 day still life workshop with Roger Dale Brown at Dot Coursin’s Workshops in Pontotoc, Mississippi. I learned a lot about edges, value control, and focusing my paintings. Although all of these are landscapes they employ all of the things Roger was talking about.16 x 20 oil on canvas panel “Waiting For Evening”16 x 20 oil on canvas panel “Route 55 east of the Plains”
16 x 20 oil on canvas panel “Irish Wind”
Have been painting all snowy day but not as successful as these. Really, really nice. Love the cows, and love Irish Wind.
I find very interesting your application of the concepts learned in still life to the landscape. Really could be applied to any subject. Is’nt?. Thank for share. Best regards. Mercedes
Wonderful! To be able to capture in oil what is so successful in your watercolor landscapes.
