So today I started with this 16 x 20 oil painting and my goal was to get a little closer to a well painted expressive sky and I think it turned out fairly well although I still have a long way to go. I then worked on two paintings for a commission I have been putting off for about 2 years now, I just couldn’t seem to get the hang of what they were looking for. I broke out the acrylics and changed directions completely on minute representational oil the next minute abstract acrylic landscapes, not sure where this is going but I do like the results. Maybe that is just the way my brain works.“Clouds on the horizon” Oil
22 x 30 Acrylic on paper “I hope they like it”
22 x 30 Acrylic on Paper “Another Summer Day”
Hi Steve,
Just received a copy of the Lawrence Goldsmith book…..WONDERFUL! Thanks so much for the recommendation…..I am a book freak and will enjoy adding this to my collection. Hope you have heard from the workshop chairman of the Central Virginia Watercolor Guild. I would love to have you teach for us.
I like the new paintings….especially the first abstract…..they will love it!
Happy painting, Sue š
It’s not that I don’t like the other two, it’s that I find Clouds on the Horizon so striking, I can’t stop looking at it long enough to give the other two a fair shake! š All over the map true, but that’s what makes it so much fun to check in on your blog daily.
Thanks I think it was a good couple of paintings, I’m glad you like them.
