In this painting I am just working on a nice and simple quick sketch of a little light filled water scene. I like the sky with the cool greys and the warm passages, I tried to merge them without a lot of over brushing and lifted a few highlights with a tissue. Pretty much everything after the sky fell apart into a characature of the scene.
Paint the sky down to the water line and cut around the building, paint the opposite tree line right after you finish the sky.
Put a light wash on the two building on the left, I used cadmium scarlet and raw sienna but that is not showing up too correctly. Keep these light so the shadows will show up.
Nice! Thanks for sharing these, including the steps. It takes time to do this and I appreciate it!
