This is a pretty simple painting but fun just the same, anytime you put a few figures in your painting the stakes of the game go up.  My palette in this little piece is Cobalt Violet, Cobalt Blue, Olive Green, Raw Sienna, and that pretty much covers it.  Preserve the lights and keep the sky working for the composition.15 x 22 line drawing on Arches cold press, make sure the figures are off center.

Again using a 1.5 inch wash brush to run these big washes, pretty much Cobalt Blue and Violet

Figures and the form of the rock is painted now remember to keep the lights on the bottom this will help create a center of interest.  It will also keep you from getting to busy.  I am using a number 12 round.

A few lifts on the edges of the figures and some movement on the water and this painting is finished.  Try and keep this painting simple.
