During my break from classes I went on a long cruise, played with my dog and did very little painting involving new ideas and new concepts, I worked mainly on finishing and resolving works that had accumulated over the previous several months. It has been my habit to paint a lot of work during a semester and just stack the work until a time when I can really focus on whether the work has any merit worth pursuing. I pulled out 4 works from my Abstract Watercolor Class and decided to work on these. The are all 22×30 on paper mainly acrylic and most have a collage layer of canvas, rice paper and layers of gel medium, now I am pretty happy with the finished paintings.
“Avalanche” 22 x 30 Acrylic on paper
“Green Jar” 22 x 30 Acrylic on paper
“Primary Water Fall” 22 x 30 Acrylic on Paper
“Doors and Window” 22 x 30 Acrylic on Paper
Wow-4 new acrylics. Love your lively color choices and the textures. Thanks for sharing these, Steve!
Hello! I absolutely love your website, your blog and of course your paintings. I would love to get some information on your Maine workshops. Can you send it to me or should I email you. I really like your abstract acrylics. I am just getting back into painting and your posts are really helpful!! Thanks for taking the time to post them.
I’m trying to understand the abstract painting and you’re helping me a lot. I liked these 4 works. The title has helped me very much to understand them. I love the movement and the light that you express in your painting.
